Ethics and citizenship: the role of the philosopher in the 21st century

This brief notes reflect on the experience and situation of American Latin philosopher. The author poses that the philosopher has currently a role that must not be ideological and can not be characterized as an "organic intellectual". Due that the philosopher is committed with the opressed. What the society expects from her or him is a commitment with the social struggles and a critical point of view about them.
