Abstract

Current scientific research considers that we are in the brink of overcoming the boundaries of the human in order to get into a new age, called Post-Human or Trans-Human. This article proposes a clarification between these proposals to rethink what is to be consider human, as a well as a series of reflections that may help us to sort out their possibilities of becoming real. This effort forces us to think on the ideas we have about human essence, nature and condition, as well on the criteria and procedures we have to elucidate how to reach a consensus about the essentially open essence of humans. From there, we will be able to decide which proposals are legitimate and beneficial and which ones, on the contrary, entail the danger of bringing us closer to situations of in-humanity.
