This article has been proposed to analyze the experience of the Christian Agrarian Leagues (LAC), the Paraguayan peasant social movement formed during the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner, through Ignacio Ellacuría’s theory. The concepts of “popular majority”, “mass”, “elite minority”, “utopia” and “negativity of the past” have proven to be fundamental in understanding the emergence, consolidation and legacy of a real protest group, referred to seek a fairer and more cooperative society. In short, using the methodology of literature review, a story was articulated for rethinking Latin America from its challenges and problems to solve.
