Abstract
This article analyzes a problem related to shrinkage in the garments that occurs in the maquilas in El Salvador, this shrinkage causes problems of non- compliance with customer quality standards, high costs for reprocessing and even disposal of batches of finished product that do not meet the standard dimensional guidelines. Thus, the main objective of this article is to know the variables that affect shrinkage through P values, through a quantitative analysis, finding the factors and the combinations of these factors that cause the problem, using a general factorial design taking three study factors, obtaining results from the analysis of variance and graphs, concluding that from the P-value analysis, for the maximum body length, the combination of the factors size and style of the garment is the most significant and under the same criteria, the average body length, the most significant factor was the fabric composition.
