Abstract
Critical theory, proposed by the Franfurt School’s theoreticians, gave insights in many aspects of social life that were not considered before by the sociologic and economic theories en vogue. However, its contributions were not thought for the current historic context. A revitalization of such theory may be found in an author from the “periphery”: Ignacio Ellacuría. His is a critic theory from the reality of poor countries, in which the contradictions of capitalism are crudely expressed.
