Abstract
Both Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 are models that seek to leverage the advantages enabled by technologies and human intelligence to promote industrial and commercial development, while at the same time addressing current problems. However, the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 is not easy and requires a transformation of industry foundations. This paper explores Blockchain’s contribution to proposing working models compatible with the ideals of Industry 5.0. In Section 1, the Industry 4.0 model is described; Section 2 focuses on the characterization of Industry 5.0 and how it differs from the predecessor model; Section 3 discusses the main technical characteristics of Blockchain; in Section 4, we conducted a documental review of Blockchain-based initiatives are aligned with the ideals proposed by the Industry 5.0 model; finally, this work ends with some conclusions in section 05. This review related to Blockchain-based solutions aligned with the ideals of Industry 5.0, is expected to broaden the discussion on the contribution this technology makes in the transition towards longterm sustainable industrial models.
