Digital preservation policies

Realidad, Revista de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades carries out its digital preservation of the scientific and academic production of the institution, through electronic supports, guaranteeing its long-term protection.

Long-term preservation:

  1. Internally, the journal's digital files are hosted on the institution's own servers, in order to guarantee their integrity and originality. It also has backup copies, updated every three months.
  2. Internationally, the journal is backed by the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform managed by CAMJOL. This system uses metadata in a format compatible with digital preservation and interoperability and performs the creation of permalink like DOI (Digital Object Identifier System).
  3. Institutionally, through its own site, it is part of the Public Knowledge Projects Preservation Network (PKP-PN) and its objective is the preservation of electronic journals. PKP provides data to the Keepers Registry about OJS journals held in the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems.
