Focus and scope

Realidad, Revista de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades is a biannual academic publication that seeks to contribute to research and theoretical reflection on social reality, with special interest in what is competing in El Salvador and the Central American area. It publishes original unpublished articles (unless, for special reasons, otherwise indicated) by national and foreign authors and other materials of interest in the following areas: social sciences (economics, sociology, psychology, communication sciences, education, urban planning), humanities (philosophy, literary and artistic studies, history).

This publication is aimed at researchers, teachers, professionals, students and society in general.

Contributions will be submitted to a double-blind peer review opinion and at least two specialists in the corresponding subject are used. The refereed sections are essays and dossier; Other non-refereed sections of the journal include reflections, reviews, documents, and interviews.

History of the journal

Realidad began in 1988, based on contributing to the tasks of research and theoretical reflection on social reality, with special interest in what to compete in El Salvador and the Central American. As of 2020, Realidad decided to publish only in electronic format, opening up new forms of free access scientific dissemination and dissemination.

Publication frequency

Realidad is a biannual publication. Making two publications a year, in the months of January-June and July-December. It publishes more than 5 unpublished and original articles per year.
