Abstract

"Health is not everything, but without it, everything else is nothing": Schopenhauer. The health of teachers in educational policy is not very relevant, despite the fact that the proper development and continuity of educational processes depends on their well-being. This article presents an analysis of the educational policies regarding the health approach of Salvadoran educators who work in the public education system. Teacher health was approached from the working conditions and health conditions, considering the influence of the views about the teaching work. Among the most outstanding findings are the marginalization of teachers in educational policies and the dissociation of their diseases from working conditions. Inclusive and humanizing policies are needed, which see the teacher as a person with rights and not just as a transmitter of knowledge.
