Abstract
Fascism, seen under the ligth of history and critical analysis, is a contemporary issue in the extent that the conditions that made possible its rise after the World War I are currently present. A better comprehension of those conditions must make it possible to understand the risks that the world is facing in the beginning of 21st century and to avoid the return of facism to the ground of effective politics. This essay aims to a theoretical and analytic effort in this direction. This is also a warning that the barbarism of fascism can return, destroying the hopes of our times.
