Abstract

Gender inequality in science remains a persistent This research presents the development and results of TAXODIM-RMD/V1.0, a tool containing a set of automated spreadsheets designed for the creation and comprehensive analysis of a building, essentially covering structural pre-dimensioning, the thermal behavior of the envelope, energy consumption, and carbon footprint in the early design stage to facilitate the comparative environmental assessment of building configurations. The proposal is based on an interdisciplinary approach between architecture, civil engineering, and energy engineering, integrating regulatory and environmental sustainability criteria. Two taxonomies were defined: one structural, which considers concrete, steel and masonry systems, and another energy-based, based on ASHRAE climate zones and consumption profiles in multi-family, school and office buildings. The tool consists of three modules: structural calculation under seismic regulations, thermal transmittance (U) analysis in the building envelope, and estimation of annual energy consumption according to climate and use. It also includes a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based on the ICE database and the Level(s) framework.
