To disseminate research findings, case studies, best practices, and technological solutions in the fields of engineering, architecture, and design to contribute to the development and transformation of Latin American societies.
Publication Frequency
One issue is published annually.
History of the Journal
The journal originated from the proceedings of the Congress of Engineering and Architecture (CONIA). The First Congress of Engineering and Architecture was held in 2011 and was the result of the evolution of the electronics and computer science fairs, which took place between 2003 and 2009, and the Congress of Electronics and Computer Science, held in 2010. The positive reception of the Electronics and Computer Science Congress by academics and students naturally led to the establishment of a congress that would include topics relevant to all degree programs in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
In El Salvador, scientific and technological publications have been scarce and sporadic over time. Therefore, we consider it important to create a space for the broader dissemination of Latin American academic output in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, and Design.
The proceedings of CONIA evolved into this publication, maintaining the university’s 1989 approach, as stated by the university: “…the fundamental focus of UCA’s research must be the national reality, but the national reality insofar as it needs and can be transformed.” Therefore, articles must aim toward the transformation of reality.
